China Knowledge

As part of the knowledge transfer, the China Hub regularly offers topic-specific presentations and workshops as well as information and sensitization trainings.

The aim is to reach all relevant scientific stakeholders at state universities, colleges and scientific institutions in Bavaria. However, as the needs for information and knowledge on scientific cooperation with China are very different, the overall target group is basically segmented into two target groups:

  1. Scientists and academics with cooperation practice/interest in research or teaching
  2. Academic support staff in research and teaching

Topic-specific presentations and workshops

The questions and topics developed in the open space events / network meetings are addressed in in-depth and/or supplementary presentations and workshops.

In terms of content, the main focus will be on subject-related challenges in Sino-German scientific cooperation, which we would like to address with awareness-raising events and/or practical presentations:

  • Risk management in research collaborations
  • Export control and dual-use considerations
  • Data protection / IT security in Sino-German scientific collaborations
  • Research funding and partner search and evaluation for Sino-German collaborations
  • Experience reports from teaching and research in China

The events will be announced via the China Hub Newsletter and the news section of the China Hub website and the China Hub platform. You can register for the events via the events section of the China Hub platform or by sending an email to chinahub(at)baychina.de.

If you would like to sign up for the China Hub Newsletter, you can either register on the China Hub platform (and thus also gain access to presentations, summaries and video recordings of past events as well as other resources) or send an email to chinahub@baychina.de.

Information and sensitization trainings

The China Hub also offers general information and sensitization trainings for administrative staff and academics in the form of two seminars:

  • “Working with students and doctoral candidates from the People's Republic of China”
  • “China's science and innovation system”

The seminars are held (in German) in person by employees of the China Hub or BayCHINA at the local universities and colleges. Participants should plan a time frame of approx. 4 to 6 hours.

If you are interested in holding one of the seminars at your institution, please send us an email to chinahub(at)baychina.de or call the China Hub team on 0921 / 55 54 64.
Planned introductory seminars will be announced via the China Hub newsletter and the news section of the China Hub website and the China Hub platform. You can register for the seminars via the events section of the China Hub platform or by sending an email to chinahub@baychina.de.
