Invitation to our networking event on December 5 and 6, 2024

The situation of scientific cooperation with the PR China can currently be categorized between de-risking and re-assuring. Despite the increasing geopolitical tensions that influence international scientific cooperation and the identified risks and challenges, there is still an interest in cooperation with China. The constant number of Chinese students in Bavaria (Winter semester 2023/24: 9,892 students from China) also shows the continuing interest in Sino-German cooperation in science, teaching and innovation.

As part of the China Hub project, we are inviting early career researchers and academics from various disciplines to come together to discuss the “Opportunities and possibilities in Sino-German academic cooperation”. During the two-day event, we would like to discuss together why and how we can cooperate scientifically with China despite current difficulties and challenges, promote the exchange between experienced scientists and young researchers and develop new perspectives. The aim is to create motivation for scientific cooperation with China, generate confidence and break down barriers.
